Independent information project
About China Haul Guide
We help overseas visitors plan what to buy, where to shop, what it may cost and how to bring purchases home—without operating a store, shopping agent or freight service.
Why this site exists
Shopping videos and social posts are excellent at creating interest. They are less reliable as complete trip plans. China Haul Guide turns recurring questions into structured city guidance, checklists and browser-based tools that a traveler can use before and during a trip.
Who is responsible
China Haul Guide is an independently operated, one-person research and publishing project supported by AI-assisted workflows. Final scope, source selection, factual review and publication decisions remain human responsibilities. Editorial questions and corrections are handled through info@chinahaulguide.com.
What we cover
- Shopping-focused travel planning in China
- City and district guidance organized around visitor decisions
- Product-category questions, comparison checks and packing considerations
- Budget and luggage planning tools
- Payment, receipt, tax-refund and departure topics when supported by appropriate sources
What we do not cover
- Product sales, marketplaces or paid purchasing services
- Shopping agents, warehouse consolidation or freight quotations
- Counterfeit, replica or grey-market sourcing
- Personal legal, customs, tax or aviation advice
- Guaranteed prices, stock, authenticity, refunds or outcomes
Editorial method
- Start with a visitor question. We use recurring travel-shopping questions to define the job of each page.
- Separate durable guidance from changing facts. Planning methods can remain useful while prices, store details and policies require dates and rechecking.
- Prefer primary sources for policy-sensitive claims. Official government, tax, aviation, transport and operator information is prioritized where relevant.
- Show limitations. Calculators explain assumptions and are presented as estimates rather than quotations or official advice.
- Review and update. Time-sensitive pages display a checked date, and material changes are reflected in the source record.
Verification labels
- Verified in person means a detail was checked directly on location.
- Checked against an official or first-party source means the statement was compared with a government, authority, operator or brand source.
- Reported but not independently confirmed means the information is useful context from a clearly identified published report but has not been verified directly.
Pages do not imply first-hand verification when it has not occurred.
How AI is used
AI may support research organization, question clustering, draft structure, consistency checks and code assistance. It is not treated as a factual source. Claims that can affect payment, travel, tax, customs, aviation or purchasing decisions require an appropriate source and human review.
Update approach
- Policy-sensitive information is rechecked when an authority announces a change and reviewed on a risk-based schedule.
- City, store, price and opening-hour details are checked before publication and prioritized for review according to traffic and change risk.
- Evergreen explanations are reviewed at least twice a year.
- High-traffic and high-impact pages are updated before low-use material.
Commercial independence
The initial business model is display advertising after the site has developed a credible body of useful content. Future affiliate links or sponsorships, if introduced, will be clearly labeled and will not change editorial conclusions. The site does not currently sell products.
Corrections and contact
If you find a factual issue, a broken official link or a detail that has changed, contact info@chinahaulguide.com. Please identify the page and the specific claim so it can be reviewed efficiently.
